Hi!
I have a part time job but have been off sick for 10 months due to my uncontrolled epilepsy. Unpredictable & without warning tonic clonic seizures weekly & absences almost daily. There is no sign in the near future I will be able to return. The occupational health advisor for work said I am unfit to return at the moment.
I have an esa work capability assessment by phone in a couple of weeks. I think I should be in the support group.
So my question is…
what questions will I be asked?
Are there pacific questions for epilepsy or just general questions that cover all health issues?
Do the health professional actually understand epilepsy? Or do they have the attitude of most that epilepsy only effects a person when they are having a seizure & are perfectly fine otherwise.
I have recently had a mr for pip & won. This is stressing me out already. Filling in the questionnaire was bad enough. I need help in getting across how my epilepsy effects me because it’s different every day. Help!!
Thankyou in advance for any help anyone could give me.

There is a list of the questions you should expect in our UC/ESA guide.

I would expect you to be asked about your Epilepsy as this is covered under one of the ESA/UC activities.

The key issue will be whether you lose consciousness or suffer an altered state of reality, at least once a week for the Support Group, I realise that there is much more to a seizure but the above is the issue that will be looked at.
