My friend said I am eligible for freedom pass, as find it hard leaving the flat without her she does not have a car anymore and will have to take me on transport but it sometimes causes me stress.
She said I should be allowed one. We applied and the council said no because I scored 0 mobility points but most of the time going out causes distress and I need someone with me.
Is this true I never know what to believe as feels like they just palm you off and don’t want to help.
This is not an area of benefits that we deal with on the forum but a quick search found the following, as you can see PIP Mobility is not mentioned although an award might be considered as relevant evidence.
My late sister had a Transport for London freedom pass on the grounds that her mental health would have made her unsafe to drive had she wished to. She could walk physically fine.
