I have received a letter form DfC asking me for my date of birth and to send them my passport. Can anyone advise why this is? I turned 66 this month and will get my state pension at the end of the month. Thank you.

Hi Annie,

I think this is just standard practice for anyone who's ready to start claiming their pension - so they can check everythings correct, such as name, address, date of birth, and likely they will want you to re-confirm bank details.

Post approved though for anyone who can maybe give you a solid answer as to why.

Chris.
