Nightmare smh pos over payment of working tax credits was created by Dennana
Hello all, we had to migrate over to uc from working tax. Before I did I spoke to wt to give them
Our figures as requested . I was asked about a disability payment for my
Partner inc with wt. I had notified them years ago my partners dla stopped when he went back
To work , nothing had changed health wise for him we just didn’t want the stress of fighting the decision . Anyhow He says sometimes they let it run on payment in wt. it’s really upset me and got me really anxious when I have to
Give our figures in again this week as our uc starts there’s going to be a big over payment , it’s making me feel ill , I did notify them
Years ago straight away when dla stopped. I had no reason to
Think we were not getting the correct wt as just because dla stopped it did not mean my
Other half’s disability was cured! He’s no better now than what he was years ago ! It never was going to
Go away it’s life long his health problem and gets worse with age. Has anyone got any advice for me please it has me so worried . I’ve not deceived anyone I’m not like that ! I told them the dla had ended cos he went back
To work . Will they have records they can look back
At to confirm I notified them ? I’ve done a bit googling and seen
That even if it was fault
Of wt if there’s any over payment it will have to be paid back . Nothing I can do about that but I’m gutted this is happening . Thank you if you read all this .

Hi Dennana
Welcome to the forum.
You might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is; www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/guides-for-claimants/faq/forum.
Your question is outside the scope of the forum and we would advise you to seek help from your local Welfare Rights Organisation; advicelocal.uk
The first question to answer is can you prove that you notified TC that your partners DLA had stopped, if you phoned them to report it, did you follow it up in writing?
Options on how to deal with an overpayment depends on the route DWP take to recover the overpayment, WRO will be able to give you more information.

Hi Deanna
One area of the DWP does not inform another that a payment has been stopped - it is up to the claimant to report it.
