Hi all,

I just want to report success with UC, I am gobsmacked!

I started my UC / new style ESA claim and applied for PIP on 20 May of this year. My ESA claim has just been closed after being made to jump through several hoops, but apparently I missed one, hence it has been closed (I've never received a payment). I have multiple health conditions and autism/ADHD, with the bulk of my barriers to work being related to chronic fatigue symptoms.

I had my ESA work capability assessment at the start of August, and also my PIP assessment a few days later. I was thinking I would have to phone up to make sure that UC got the results of my WCA and that I wouldn't have to go through it all again.

Well, result! Got an email telling me to log on and check a message in my journal - did so, and there is a letter dated today that says "we have decided that you have limited capability for work and work-related activity. You may know this as LCWRA.". I am gobsmacked! It states about LCWRA payments from 3 months after the day you gave us medical evidence showing your condition means you cannot work. Presumably that's the date of my first sick note and not the date I had my WCA?

As far as PIP, I'm in the mandatory reconsideration phase now but I'm hopeful I will get some kind of award - I was awarded 6 points in daily living (I score myself 25) and 4 points in mobility (I score myself 18), so fingers crossed I will get an award eventually!

I could not have done either without the wonderful guides and this website, so thank you, thank you, thank you.

Hi Nunoidia,

Thanks for your response.
Yes the date for the start of the LCWRA payment 3 month wait is the date of your first Fit Note.
