Hi B3lla,

These carers are not part of your household I assume. That being the case you don't have to provide their dates of birth. You could say that you don't have access to that information. Ultimately this could be a subject for the lawyers to see if there is any " case law " on this issue and data protection.

Hi David, just an update. I explained that my only care was from my adult children who have their own homes but refused give their dates of births. I received a message in my journal today, telling me that I qualify for the protected SDP element. I didn't expect this as I thought I would have to have a carer to be eligible for it. And the way they worded their first message, implies that I would. Another sneaky tactic to catch people out. So heads-up for everyone else in the same position.
