ESA refuse was created by ZenZen
Hi, I applied for ESAa few weeks ago, just received a letter that says,"we can not pay you employment & support allowance, we can not pay you because you have not paid or been credited with enough national insurance contributions." when I looked on the National Insurance website in my name. For the year their talking about, I can see it sees Full Year, you have NI credits 52 weeks. I don't understand it.
Then further down the letter it says, to continue to get contribution-based ESA yo may need to an attend a work focused interview. and you may need to fill in a capability for work questionnaire. why does it say these things, if it said they can't pay me ESA.
is it because its a standard letter for different things?
Do you know if it says I have 52 credits, does that mean I have enough contributions ?

Hi ZenZen,

This is all very confusing. Have you tried phoning ESA for an explanation?
