PIP Review Forms - How Many are there Now? Is “Light Touch” finished?

Good Afternoon

I have today read your latest newsletter about the new DWP PIP review form. I gather it is referenced AR1.

Are your comments solely focused on working age claimants coming up for review? Or those with a shorter than “ongoing” award?

I understood that some time ago, the DWP introduced a new “light touch” form AR2 for people who hold an ongoing award, and who are past pension age.

Is this light touch form still in existence, or are all reviews being covered by this new AR1 form - which is 25 pages long?

Grateful for this clarification please.

Hi Augustus

If you look at the updated guide for PIP claims and Reviews (p 129) onwards it explains the difference between the AR1 and AR2 Review forms. Most people will receive the AR1 form.

"The AR2 form is being issued from August 2023 to claimants who have:
• very stable needs which are unlikely to change over time; or
• high level needs which will either stay the same or get worse; or
• a planned award review date due on or at State Pension age"
