Moving to UC or ignore? was created by craig3474
I am currently recieving ESA-C with a ESA-IR topup and in Support Group (my newer letters dont mention ESA-C, but i have older ones that do, so i assume i do). I get the Severe disability premium and the Enhanced disability premium. I do not get the Disability Premium as i recieve ESA-IR.
Total - £481.10 paid fortnightly

I also recieve PIP high on both components.

I recenly recieved my letter to move to UC, my question is, is there any point as UC is onoly replacing the IR and the ESA-income top-up is small.

If i stayed as i were, would i be able to still keep recieving ESA-C, my Severe disability premium and my Enhanced disability premium and also apply for the Disability Premium as i would not be recieving ESA-IR no longer?

Thanks in advance

Hi craig3474

If you don't claim UC and remain just on Contributions Based ESA you will not get any premiums as these are only paid with Income Based ESA. If you claim UC you will receive the LCWRA element.
If you phone the Citizens Advice Help to Claim phone number which is on page 2 of your UC Migration letter they can do some better off/worse off calculations for you.

Let me know how you get on.
