I migrated to UC 3 weeks ago from ESA due to receiving my migration letter. I haven’t been told anything yet, it states I’ll receive payment info on 11th Feb, but I hope I will be put in LCWRA group (fingers crossed) as I was in Support Group on ESA. I go on holiday for 5 days in 3 weeks times. Do I have to inform UC I am going away if I am put in LCWRA group?? There is conflicting advice online. I believe from what I’ve read that if I’m put in LCWRA group that I won’t have a work coach so do need to inform anyone I’m going away. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Jaci2902

In that case you will be fine and there is no need to inform the DWP.

Hello David,
When to we need to tell them if we go on holiday?
Is it if we go abroad for more than 4 weeks?
Thank you
Best wishes

Hi VIA

There is not much point in telling them before you go on holiday as they are not obliged to give you the correct advice regarding the UC regs. and if you were to do something that contravened the UC regs. it would be your responsibility. The best thing is to get accurate advice before you leave the UK. You will be obliged to inform the DWP if your stay abroad broke the conditions for time spent outside of the country.
