my wife has claimed Carers Allowance to look after me,but the DWP have stopped her Severe Disability Premium because they claim that you can't have both benefits at the same time.
The Carers Allowance that is paid to my wife is deducted in full from my ESA,and there is a Carers Premium added in its place.
The way I see it you can get Carers Premium and Severe Disability Premium together, and I'm struggling to see the difference if they're deducting the Carers Allowance payment anyway. Is there a way around this,so she could get the Carers Premium without the pointless Carer Allowance payment,so she could continue to be entitled to Severe Disability Premium?
I'm sorry, but your question is outside the remit of this forum. You need to talk to a specialist welfare advisor - who could tell you if there is any way round this. I can't think of one in my limited knowledge in the area.
