Migration to UC from IS and HB was created by David Stell
Hi Everyone,

My wife and I have just received migration notices based on joint Housing Benefit and Income Support. No other benefits were mentioned in the letters received. My wife receives PIP and Contributions based ESA (Support Group) and I, as her carer receive Carers Allowance and Income Support.

There does not appear to be a guide for this process, only for Income Based ESA to UC. Can anyone advise me about applying for UC in our more limited circumstances, please? As our other benefits are not mentioned in the letter, do we have to complete a full application or is there a more focused application process for those whose UC will only cover the IS and Housing Benefit?

Where is the best place to get advice and guidance?

Hi David

If you are using your real name as your Forum user name it is recommended that you change it for internet security reasons.

This BenefitsandWork guide mentions Housing Benefit during Managed Migration.

To answer your question the best place to get advice and guidance is using the Citizens Advice Help to Claim service for UC Managed Migration. Their phone number should be on page 2 of your Migration letter. Here is a recommendation from our Forum user--
