Dwp visiting thousands of homes was created by Chrystal
The Department for Work and Pensions is scrapping one benefit and will visit thousands of benefit claimants' homes to tell them. Under managed migration, people who claim Employment and Support Allowance will be moved to Universal Credit.
This is in the news today , is this actually true or scaremongering I mean who wants the DWP in your home
Is this just income related esa
Is contributions based esa being migrated to universal credit too ?

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Chrystal
To answer your question " scaremongering I mean who wants the DWP in your home". You should read the recent comments of Forum members who had nothing but praise for the DWP Visiting Officer who helped them claim Benefits with a home visit.
Contribution Based ESA will continue as before but will be referred to by the DWP as New Style ESA.

Thank you that’s good to know that there have been positive reviews , I’ve got severe anxiety , the constant barrage of misinformation in the news which feels
Like the government are attacking and singling out the ill and disabled as a way to reduce spending does fill me with dread and anxiety , .
Does that mean contribution was new style esa is not being migrated at the moment then , your help is greatly appreciated , and when you read the articles they are wrote in a way that is scary well I feel that way anyway , sorry if I have alarmed or caused worry

This is the story, it's repeated in several local papers. It's basically saying we will try everything to get in touch with esa migration claimants before they cut off benefits. As usual the headline is scaremongering www.nottinghampost.com/news/cost-of-livi...enefit-visit-9948285
