Good evening,

Please may I have some advice. I submitted my UC50 form this week - I had a lot of advice from benefit adviser / using the benefits and work website etc and included medical evidence from my psychiatrist and mental health nurse especially regarding substantial risk. I am now wondering when I may be likely to hear about an assessment - my nurse and I requested not face to face due to my mental health difficulties. Is there a usual timeframe from the DWP receiving the UC50 to when I might hear if a phone assessment is needed and is there any good information eg a video about the assessment for WCA I might be able to watch. I am very anxious about this and my psychiatrist has suggested he believes the correct decision would be that I am placed in LCWRA group and that my complex psychological difficulties are lifelong. If I was placed in the LCWRA is it the decision maker who decides when you might need to be reassessed? Hope you can help thanks

Hi janerg63

Hopefully as you have endorsements from your clinicians you will get a paper based decision and not have to go through an interview. I am not aware of the timescales the DWP are working to at present. Though if anything they are likely to have been increased owing to the deployment of a lot of staff to administer UC Managed Migration.
To answer your question -If I was placed in the LCWRA is it the decision maker who decides when you might need to be reassessed? Yes the Decision Maker inputs a date known as the prognosis on the DWP IT system.
I haven't been able to find a reliable video on the WCA. Here are some links to BenefitsandWork resources--
