Hi Starw0n

I cannot say when your 2 week HB and ESA run on should have been paid. Your UC should be paid on the 13th of the month.

I had an overpayment of about £486 because of Child tax credit.
My Universal credit is reduced at a rate of £92.64 a month to pay it back.
I believe the amount taken for DWP overpayments cannot go higher than a certain percentage of your award (im not sure re housing benefit).

You can always ask for them to reduce the monthly amount (they may say yes if you meet the criteria).

I'll again mention the Citizens Advice help to claim line - they can do a benefit check and tell you what your payment should be (including the transitional protection amount) and can continue to support you until you get the correct payment.

I hope you get it sorted.

Hi nicmcc

Thanks for the feedback. Here is a DWP overpayments guide from Advicenow-

That's really helpful. Thank you.

Knowing that it's paid monthly allowed me to readjust my maths and I do appear to be getting the right amount now.

I do still have considerable overpayments from ESA and housing benefits but at least I know my monthly UC rates and at least I do seem to be getting the right amount. From that I can budget and start making payments. Sadly the amount that I will lose in transitional elements isn't great, especially during our cost of living issues, but I'm grateful for the stability I do have and what I am getting.

Thanks again. I really appreciate it :-)
