Help! Today is 28 days from date on my mandatory reconsideration letter was created by Dennana
Hi I’m
Panicing . My mandatory reconsideration letter is dated 18th feb . I sent my
Benefits advisor the report from the assessment a few weeks ago. I appreciate how busy they are . Todays is 28 days since the date in the decision and I’ve not heard back from benefits advisor . If I do
It today will it be ok or should I wait for my benefits advisor to get in touch ? It says you have 28 days to appeal tge decision based on the letter date . Please advise. Thank you so much

Hi Dennana
You must ring the DWP asap and see if they will give you an extension. This is a hit-and-miss affair. Sometimes they will, and sometimes they won't. Unfortunately, they do not have to give you an extension and they may simply say send it in late. If they refuse to provide you with an extension, ask permission to send in a late mandatory reconsideration and explain that you are waiting for your MR letter to come back from the benefits advisor. Whatever you are told on the phone call, write it down and then send off a letter confirming what they said. (And keep a copy) Please don't just sit and wait to hear from the Benefits advisor. The DWP need to know what is going on.

Hi thank you for your reply . Spoke to BA today and on to it . It was too late to ring anyone last night no where would have been open . Will just have to wait and see what happens now . Thanks again for your reply.
