They only use it as a form of ID if you don't have enough other forms of ID though.

Thanks for the helpful and supportive answers people!
I've another question, I hope that's ok.
I pay my rent along with my regular water payment direct to my landlord in one monthly sum, as the social landlord pays any extra water charges.
The form asks if I pay any service charges along with my rent - so do I put this water payment down as a service charge? I know it's not to be counted as part of my rent but I wasn't sure if they'd consider it to be a service charge or a bill.
Also do I apply for the advance after I've submitted my claim?
Just a heads up that I'm submitting on the day of my deadline. I've set up my account and am working through the sections. It's a week till my deadline and I got a text to expect a phone call from a DWP number about making a UC claim. I assume this is deadline related, but it seems silly they can't tell you're in the process of doing it 🤔
Thanks again folks!

Hi
Regarding advanced payment, you can claim after you submit your claim. I had 1 month to ask for an advanced payment. They tell you the date after you submit in the section about your payments. So if you submit 12th June, your advance payment deadline to claim would be 11th July.

Hi Sowandgrow
It would be classed as a service charge, some service charges are classed as eligible others are classed as ineligible. DWP will not pay any ineligible charges.
I personally would say it was an ineligible charge, you need to ask your landlord, they should be able to give you a breakdown of your service charges into eligible and ineligible.
