Hi,

I've just contacted ESA ref my husband's claim
He is in the support group of ESA and we've had our migration letter to move to UC. I asked the ESA when my hubby is due another wca and they told me march 2026. Will my hubby be classed as a new claim or an existing claim due to the payments been altered April 26. I've just sent is pip review back and now this. I'm so stressed by it all because of my husband conditions and mental health, i don't tell him anything it's also stressing me out to the point last night for the first time in my life thinking about suicide. I can't cope with this much stress and anxiety 😥

Hi Snuggles

The date you are given in March 2026 is what is called the Prognosis date. There are thousands of claimants with Prognosis dates in 2020 who are still waiting for a WCA owing to the suspension of WCAs following the Covid pandemic. So he is unlikely to have a WCA in 2026. So hopefully I think you won't need to get assistance with this until 2027.

Hi David
Thank you for your response it's made me feel a bit better. My husband would love to go back to work, he was a hgv driver had a head injury while at work and 6mths later started with epilepsy he also suffers with non epiletic attack disorder which is an umbrella to FND. He also suffers with complex PTSD due to enduring 9 Years of child hood trauma via a family friend. Last month alone he had 68 seizures and so far this month he's had 73. We got in touch with 2 agencies last week to see if he would get employment and reading between the lines I don't think they wanted to take him on as a client. Can't wait for him to go to see a work coach and see what they can do for him.

Hi Snuggles

I can't see a Work Coach doing much as they have entry level GCSE qualifications.
The Jobcentre has a specialist health adviser called a DEA that stands for Disabilities Employment Adviser whose help could be requested.
Here is a description of their role-

Thank you so much for that, never heard of a DEA. It will be worth looking into. I know when when we transfer over to UC by the 7th June he will be placed in the LCWRA group because he migrating from the support group hopefully we can ask about.
