The new changes mean I’ll be down £800 a month, as I’m sure many of you will be too.
I have 2 dogs who mean the world to me, there’s been times I don’t know how I would have coped without them, chronic pain can leave you feeling very alone, and in a dark place, but my dogs always pull me through. I’m worried I won’t be able to manage the costs of keeping them.
I wonder how many others here have pets, who feel they will no longer be able to afford to keep them?
Will these changes also mean an increase of pets needing re homing?
I’m sure many of you could list many other knock on effect of these changes.
What’s the chances that these proposals will be thrown out?
Feeling very scared.

Hi Elle,

I myself based on the current situation will be close to £400 pounds down a month, and after rent is paid, I'll be left with under £200 per month to pay for all my other bills, including cat food which costs me £80 month as my cat has issues and needs specific types of gastronintestinal food. Energy at £100 a month and other things, I worked it out as I'll be left with needing to find £120 per month before I've shopped - so probably like many others, we'll just be left to die of starvation - unless we're forced into work that we can't physically or mentally do, which will likely cause issues to companys and members of staff - additional depression. But who knows what will happen by November 2026 - it's still quite a way off - but like you, thousands of us, will be terrified of the proposed changes.

Chris.

I hear you! It's on my mind every day at some point.
How can Reeves look herself in the eye and say this is ok.
Does she not realise how easily anyone can end up in our position? It’s not a choice, or even a lifestyle choice.
I’m fuming. :(

Disgusting isn't it Elle? - In my opinion, they should just legalize Euthanasia for those on benefits, give them a pill, and the problem is over. I'd certainly be up for it! - not like it's a world we want to live in anymore :(
