Migration Notice and UC claim was created by Cheekyfeet
Hi everyone i am in a bit of panic i need some advice as i think i may have answered a question on my UC claim incorrectly. I live with my older brother who is the sole tenancy holder for where we live and has the sole responsibility for the rent which is his name and covered by Housing Benefit, he also claims legacy ESA in the Support Group and gets enhanced PIP on both elements due to life long disabilities and CTB, he has not had his migration notice to UC yet.
I got sent my UC migration notice dated 29/04/25 I just wanted to get it out the way as quickly as possible so I filled the UC claim yesterday and on reviewing the answers I feel I "may" have incorrectly answered the question about Children or anyone else who lives with you incorrectly but I am not sure either way to be honest I answered No as it says do not include anyone with a separate tenancy agreement as my brother is the only one with the tenancy agreement so I answered No, but I felt a bit uncomfortable with that answer, I just felt they should know that I live with my older brother as a non dependant, before I made my claim to UC i was on ESA and in the Support Group and on Enhanced PIP with no claim to any housing benefit/CTB as I lived with a relative, plus the non dependant charge is cancelled out when two separate adults get the Daily element of PIP, so you get some idea of my circumstances.
I have claimed UC as single person with no children and no housing costs. as I'm not liable for the rent as I live with a close relative ie my older brother
What I would like to know is should I have mentioned my older brother in the question "do you have children or does anyone else live with you"? when he is the sole tenant responsible for the rent from the local authority. I'm not sure if that question is being asked to someone is liable for the tenancy and rent and has to inform them of any non dependants.
My UC claim has been sent just waiting for a phone call back for the identity check, I sent a message on my journal that I may have answered a question incorrectly and explained like I have above. If I get a call or appointment I can mention this then too hopefully, as I don't want them coming back saying I didn't fill out the UC migration form wrong and thinking it's fraudulent by missing info i was not sure of that should of included
Can anyone offer me any advice, have I messed up my claim as I know UC can be harsh on the rules or will it be ok that I made them aware of that I might have answered a question incorrectly and tried remedy the issue. I am a bit worried by this, if some on here could help or offer any advice I would be most grateful.
I will let you know how I get on with this.

Hi Cheekyfeet
There is nothing to worry about as you have not tried to claim additional Benefit and you have outlined your situation. You are a single person as far as a household is concerned.
