DWP ESA Failure,

DWP ESA Failure, was created by Navigator
Due to a DWP failure to process my ESA50 since 2023, I am now in the process of migrating over to UC and at a recent work commitments telephone appointment they are relying on the now out of date info in the 2023 Form, as the DWP have failed to send a new ESA50 form promised back in March 2025, but to date has not arrived.

The problem is I believe given my new conditions I should be considered for the support group, but the JCP have me in the work group and are proceeding with this. Even with the evolvement of my MP the DWP have still not replied to him either. Now JCP have asked me to send all my medical information to them, but I am reluctant to do this, as they cannot change the group I am in? So send it to JCP would seem pointless as they are then just causing me more work in getting all the medical info copied.

Is this normal and will sending my medical info to JCP help or not? And how long shall I give DWP to reply to my MP before getting back on to him? in relation to my UC I am now booked in for regular 2 weekly, appointments, and I haven't even had my first UC payment yet? I know if I am considered for the SG and my form had been processed in time I would not have to be doing all this.

Any feedback appreciated.

Hi Navigator

It is unusual for people in the WRAG or with UC LCW to be asked to attend and see a Work Coach fortnightly. That is usually reserved for healthy people in the UC All Work Requirements Group. Has the Work Coach got a reason for this?

Hi David,
The first work coach told me she was not able to deal with people over 50+ so why she called me in the first place in relation to my commitments I do not know. She stated that because of what I told her that she would "Switch Everything Off" so I would not be bothered by DWP or JCP until my issues were resolved.

She then stated that there was a 50+ coach to help over 50s back into work, and I would be transferred over to them, for a telephone appointment every 2 weeks?

Totally ignoring my Journal entry asking for a complex needs coach, due to my anxiety and other conditions, and also my request for reasonable adjustments, under the equality act that also applied to me.
I really do not know what a 50+ work coach can do for me, as I cannot work or look for work, but the Work coach just said that she was following the procedures laid out?

Hi Navigator

I misunderstood. I thought they were summoning you into the Jobcentre fortnightly as with those looking for work. You can ask if the phone interviews are mandatory with the threat of a sanction if you don't participate. If they are voluntary then they may agree to cancel them.

Hi David,
Sorry about the misunderstanding.
But given my circumstances, and reasonable adjustments, and complex needs, they could make the calls every 6 to 8 weeks, I would prefer them to stop altogether, which would be my preferred option. rather than wasting my time with unnecessary call just for the sake of it.
