WITHDRAW CONSENT - PIP was created by MtOlympus
I am finding it extremely difficult to fill in form for PIP. - Ive not even started filling in yet, and already asked for extension.

But I read that I can withdraw consent, they can go on what they know about me.

I’m applying for PIP first time. (Does that not apply if applying 1st time withdraw and consent and let them go by what they know about me ?)

Previously only had ESA,Income support - and now only get upper rate of UC (now permanently capped + reduced if move address) and Ive always been in non-participatory WCA group.

I should’ve applied for PIP yonks ago.

Hi MtOlympus

It's a personal choice whether you want to give the DWP permission to speak to your GP and disclose your medical information. Contrary to the impression that the DWP gives, they actually don't contact the GPs very often. If you don't want them to contact them - you can say so on your PIP form and tell them to examine your ESA records.

I hope you are using our Guide to PIP claims and reviews to complete the form. If you have any specific questions about filling in the form, come back and ask, and we will try to help.

Yes - but I cant bring myself to fill in the form or even start it.

If I withdraw consent, do I not have to fill in the form — it seems to say we will make a decision on what we already know about you.

Hi MtOlmpus

If you feel unable to fill in your PIP form - you can ask them to look at information they have on file for your ESA and make a paper-based assessment- but ESA is a separate benefit with different criteria, and there is no guarantee that they will do this. Nor will they necessarily agree to a paper-based assessment
