UC Migration - Journal and Biographical - Problems already !!!! was created by Jon
Hi,
I successfully completed my ESA to UC Migration form, or so I thought !!!!!
While completing the Migration form I completed the necessary checks for identity (by holding my phone over the chip in my passport). I was told this was successful, and submitted my Form
I then got a Biographical meeting notice in my journal for 2 June (Biographical is to confirm my identity - which had already been done).
Firstly, without notice, the meeting was changed to 16 June. So here I am, having gathered all the necessary paperwork, and arranged for someone to be present to help me. No one called. I checked the Journal to find the appointment said 16 June.
At first I started to doubt myself and I had read it incorrectly (silly me), but then I was adamant I had got the date right. I called the UC line to check. At first they couldn't see any changes, so I must be mistaken, but after pushing further, they could see a change of meeting date.
BE AWARE - they change dates at very short notice, and don't tell you. If you don't have internet access at the time you cant check your Journal for such changes.
This may be the start of many ways Universal Credit are finding to delay, or scupper your application, using the excuse 'well, its in your Journal'.

Hi Jon
Following the pandemic a significant number of UC staff work from home still. So they may not be able to log on for the usual life events such as illness or children with an in service training day.
