Friend has received PA4 and is now waiting for a decision on an award from the DWP Case Manager. He has realised he forgot to mention a few things on his form and also forgot to mention a few things to the medical assessor so can he send further evidence at this point, so the DWP Case Manager gets it before making a decision on an award?

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Perdita
Your friend can send it - but he only has a small window of time and it may not even get put on the system before a decision is made or even if it is there is no guarantee that they will read it. The decision maker is a non-medical person, so even if they see it, it may not influence their decision.

Thank you. If the Decision Maker got this extra evidence in time, ie before the Decision made, is it possible they might return the extra evidence to the medical assessor thus postponing making the decision?

Hi Perdita
I doubt the decision maker would return the extra evidence to the medical assessor as the medical assessor writes their report based on their opinion. The decision maker may take the additional evidence into account when making a decision.
