Hi TBA I don't want to argue with you, but a P60 is valid. I have personal experience of being with a relative last week when the DWP came to their home and the P60 was accepted as part of the verification process.
TBA is talking about verifying your ID online. I'm in the process of migrating and the only options I was given were passport, driving licence, self assessment and credit references/records. I only have one of those so was told to expect a call in the next 2-3 days, but that didn't happen and I was given a jobcentre appointment instead. Even in the list of things I can take with me a P60 isn't mentioned. There's actually two lists, one in the To-Do list and another in a message, which are slightly different. The To-Do list also says I've to take four items, the message says three.

“I don't want to argue with you, but a P60 is valid. I have personal experience of being with a relative last week when the DWP came to their home and the P60 was accepted as part of the verification process. You will also see it on the government website - so our guide is not incorrect.”

Good, but why are you saying a P60 is valid when it isn't, and I have even provided proof?

What you say about self-ID i.postimg.cc/B6y77KRJ/B-W-Self-Verify.png P60
And from the UC sef-id page i.postimg.cc/hjmfYJFR/UC-ID-Actual.png NO P60
From a simple internet search i.postimg.cc/TPcVktCV/Cannot-Use-P60-For-UC-Self-ID.png NO P60
It was even in the news uk.news.yahoo.com/dwp-changes-verifies-u...redit-053000596.html No P60

The P60 situation changed in early April. You produced an update in May that continued to say a P60 could be used for online self-validation, why? In my last post, I provided clear proof that your handbook is wrong. Why are you saying it is not? And twice in my first post.

But most of all:
“I have personal experience of being with a relative last week when the DWP came to their home and the P60 was accepted as part of the verification process.”

1 PLEASE TELL ME WHAT THIS HAS TO DO WITH ONLINE SELF VERIFICATION?
2 PLEASE TELL ME WHY YOU HAVE SPENT MORE TIME TYPING THIS IRRELEVANCE THAN PERFORMING A SIMPLE INTERNET SEARCH THAT WOULD TELL YOU I WAS CORRECT AND YOUR HANDBOOK IS DANGEROUS?

Please answer those two questions; they are quite reasonable and politely asked.

Sorry, but you are wrong here:
“You will also see it on the government website - so our guide is not incorrect.”
i.postimg.cc/hjmfYJFR/UC-ID-Actual.png There’s no P60, are you blind or cannot read or something?

You have no idea how badly this is going down, with my friend also. I do not have the spoons to deal with your mistakes. Why are you doing this?

And why not:

“I'm sorry that you have been waiting for your post to be answered, but you won't ever receive a message that we are reviewing posts - that's not how the forum works. You write a post and submit it, and once there is a moderator to approve and answer it, the post will then be published and become visible.”

So, what on Earth is this? i.postimg.cc/Y0nf0Kf8/B-W-mod-post.png

Maybe I missed it somehow, as I’m here:

Hello,

I wrote the guide so I can explain exactly what happened here.

At the time of the last edit of the guide, the P60 was still accepted for online verification. I can be certain of this, as I had submitted an online claim with a client on the day I started the last edit and the P60 was still acceptable at that point.

This has been raised since and we have taken time to check it out and the P60 is acceptable for Jobcentre verification (including the home visit that BIS mentions) but is no longer accepted for online verification.
The current four forms of ID that you can use to verify online are:
1) Driving licence
2) Valid UK passport
3) Recent self assessment tax return
4) Answering questions about yourself based on information held on credit files etc
This will amended when the guide is next edited. Thank you to the member who helpfully contacted us to first raise this so that we could check out the current situation.

Also, I would say that if you have a concern about any of our guides, the best thing to do is to email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. so that it can be picked up by the right person. Best wishes
