  			 				Hi there

Quick question for anyone that can help. I gave my review form November 24. Didn't hear back at all until I phones up in June, as my blue badge needed renewing and my pip was runninh out.
On the call they said an extension letter had been sent out until June 26. They then said I'd probably only hear from them in November.

Which brings me to now. I received a Maximus has my review text on monday, which went me spiraling. I'm recently coming down from a bipolar episode. As the text was so unexpected I thought I'd be dealing in winter.

My carer called the dwp today for a bit of a guide of what will happen and to tell them it would need to be by telephone. Which the gentleman confirm. He said they have until August 14th to complete it.

So, is that time frame a normal thing? As I thought they had a backlog.

Secondly. Will they give me notice of an assessment date and how long is it? How will they notify me of a date? And can it be rearranged at all?

I'd like to go for a break and now feels like my summer is in complete limbo. After having all my physical procedures done at times were I can enjoy the summer. That's to my surgeon.

I'm just quite nervous now and really disappointed at the timing.

  			 				Hi Sam

I'm sorry that this has caused you so much stress.

It's impossible to provide an accurate answer regarding the timeframe. How quickly forms are processed and assessments are completed varies across the country and will depend on the availability of staff and assessors Maximus have. That type of information is not available publicly. So some claimant forms will be processed more quickly than others and dates are always movable.

If you are to have a telephone assessment, Maximus should give you seven working days' notice. You should be informed by letter. If you want to change the date of an appointment, you can do this once, but you wouldn't be able to change it a second time.

  			 				Hi
Thank you for your reply and the information you gave. I’m glad I now know about the 7 days notice as I can at least make some kind of plan. I was just looking forward to the summer thinking I didn’t have to deal with those people. So I was in an awful state yesterday. Very scared it’s going to make me very unwell.
So again thank you for your quick reply, knowing I’ll get some notice, so I’m not carrying a large box of notes around everywhere helps massively.

Will the assessor from Maximus have all my medical evidence I’ve sent? My last claim was for 5 years. So I’ve obviously sent loads with my review form (should of been enough without an assessment, but here we are).

  			 				Hi Sam

Maximus should have a copy of all the medical evidence you sent in but that does not necessarily mean they have read it. When you ask for a copy of the assessors report (PA4) it should state what evidence was taken into account.

  			 				Hi just an update

I randomly got a call from a women last month. I think from the actual assessment provider but unsure. She kept telling me it’s not an assessment she just couldn’t get through to my social worker at that time and do I have another person that she could call to speak to that day. I was so flustered I said I doubt my surgeon or anyone like that will be available to speak now today. She said she didn’t want to speak to me though.

I gave her my carers number. She kept repeating please do not worry she will call a few times to get hold of them. She said she didn’t want to put me through an assessment and could tell by my voice how panicked I sounded. She was really really nice and kept repeating not to worry. ( but I just don’t trust them)
She called my carer before I got chance to let them know.
Explained because I’d sent my review form in November and so much time had passed with their delays she just wanted to check if things are the same.
She told him to reassure me that’s it’s ok and looking at the evidence she didn’t want to put me through an assessment as I’m going through enough. She just wanted to speak to someone.

So now I’m waiting. Nervous I’ve been tricked as it was so random and I’ve had reviews that have been ‘fake’ nice and then wrote the craziest stuff. Not as nice as she sounded but still…

I received the dwp has your haas report.
Then the we have all information we need.

Has anyone heard of them saying I’ve had an assessment via someone else or is this a paper based? Or heard that they trick phoning out of the blue. Is this classed as an assessment? I’ve never had this happen before.

It sounds like you spoke to caring case worker, yes by the sound of your description it was a paper based assessment and they just wanted to check certain facts.

The waiting part is always the hardest part.
