Pip tribunal was created by Candycrush
Hi. In July 2023, my light touch PIP re assessment form landed on my mat, something we all dread. I called DWP for some advice, the advisor told me if nothing had changed, and back then it hadn’t, to just write NO CHANGE in every category. So I did. I have severe balance problems, fibromyalgia, severe anxiety and depression. Back then I had standard daily living and enhanced mobility.
The form went off, and no surprises, it came back needing an assessment. Which I waited 1 year for. This was conducted by telephone. The nurse assessor as usual wasn’t listening, I asked her to slow down, give me a breather, several times, but she ignored me. At the beginning of October 2024, DWP told me my pip was completely stopping and had scored zero points. Even tho in the nurse assessors report, she had listed what points she thought I should get, which was 8 in daily living and 10 in mobility. DWP chose to ignore this.
So I sent in my MR which was turned down. So I appealed. This was Jan 25. I’ve only just got my tribunal date through, June 16th 2026. That’s nearly 18 month wait. I do have a representative. Phone help only. I also contacted my local MP, he couldn’t get the decision overturned, I have a brilliant letter from my GP, not only listing my illnesses, medication, but he also listed how this does affect me on a day to day basis. Which still didn’t have any weight. I’ve sent in consultant letters. Etc. still nothing.
So I’m off to tribunal. By video. Obviously petrified.
In that 3 years since I started this process, I’ve worsened, but my rep said I can only base it on 3 years ago, as I was then. This seems really unfair. It’s not my fault it’s taken 3 years from start to finish. After 3 years, some claimants are getting re assessments through the post again. I suffer badly from brain fog too.
Can anyone help?
