I was really concerned about any enf/protectionary action.... so was on phone to alots of advice/advocacy agencies for advise yesterday.

CAB , Mind , Scope , Pohwer ......

I know what i have to do ....but don't have all the full financial facts bec reliant on clmts capability to access his own info. We a have applied for LPA after convincing my siblings that we need to do this to avoid exactly these issues in the future.

I don't know current OPG processing times atm but post covid it took almost 2yrs to get mums LPA done 😔

Hi Sum

Just to let you know that if the DWP ask for a copy of the LPA you could take it to your local Jobcentre and they will take a copy which is officially stamped and then sent via internal DWP mail. They do this for Pension Credit claimants with Alzheimers as well.

🚩Re - obtaining official copy of B57 appointee agreement.

Word to the wise and for those following my other saga about getting appointeeship confirmed in writing and online ....... call the DWP visiting team and ask for a copy.

Dont go chasing your tail ... with PIP , UC or MP support for this info ... its a dead end in my experience.

following from my last post ... its just dawned on me that the B57 is from PIP dept , NOT UC dept !!! This explains the breakdown.

Mind you this doesn't let DWP off the service failure hook imo. As the visiting officer assured us that DWP and all depts would be notified ....... as alawys we give them the benefit of doubt.

DWP should advise clmts of the reporting process ie visiting team will ONLY report back to the referring dept .... in this case it was PIP.
DWP should explain somewhere that bec depts don't necessarily share info on day to day , the clmt rep should also contact and update other bens teams of the appointee decision and NOT rely on PIP or Visiting officers team to do it.
