Asking for review of DLA Care was created by vivi58
Hi
Can anyone inform me of how long it takes for a review or revision of DLA claim papers. I assume it is classed as a new claim and they can request more medical evidence or even a medical?
I am aware that you say to go right to appeal with claim but to be honest I cannot put myself through all the stress and would just like the claim to be reviewed.
I have challenged the care award and enclosed additional information.
I have been successful with 3 claims that I have done on my own and was awarded on my claim and evidence that the I enclosed. I feel that there was information that was not considered when renewing the award this time.
Thanks for your time. I know it is Bank Holiday and many members will be away. But any advice will help.
Thanks again

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

If I understand you correctly you're asking the DLA office to look again at the claim you submitted because you disagree with the decision. Is this correct?
If so then it can take as long as it does, I suppose it depends how busy they are and whether they are considering requesting more information from the medical references you put on the form.
It could be worth you telephoning them up after the holiday period and just ask roughly how long your re-consideration is going to take.
Sorry I can't be of more help but in my experience the ways the DLA office work with respect to getting decisions out are highly variable.
