IB medical help was created by Rachie
Hello
I was wondering if I could get some advice.I have been called for a medical for ib after ffilling out ib50.
Iam worried I phoned my drs every week to see if they had recieved ib113 form and was told no i asked for it to be sent to gp I see now.
i found out last week as dwp told me they had recieved form that a dr I never seen has filled it out.Even more worried now.
I was worried enough about my gp filling it out as i have been under her since last year when mine retired but at least she knew a bit.
Should i ask my gp to write a supporting letter told I wont have it in time for medical.
My consultant also retired so this has worried me more.
also am I being assesed for Ib or being transferred to the dreaded esa?orry for long post
Hope everyone ok x.
Thanks for reading s

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

If I understand you correctly you're saying that a different GP from the one you regularly see has filled out an IB113 that the DWP sent to the your GP.
This does happen if your own GP is on leave or away from the practice for some other reason. The doctor who filled it out would have had access to our medical notes and would have answered the questions on the IB113 using these notes. Of course you can ask your own GP to write a supporting letter if you wish to.

hi thanks for reply.yes different gp I never seen filled it out.
I did ask for my gp to fill it out.
bit concerned as up to date diagnosis arent on the screen I saw this when went to nurse.
Am i still being assessed for ib or being transferred to esa do you know?
seems to be hard to find out.
Also what should I ask gp to write in letter or do they know.
They wont have it ready for my medical I was told but could send it after.
Hope this makes sense and thanks again x

If you filled out an IB50 initially the it's IB that you are being reassessed for. Also I've no doubt your GP has previous experience of filling out IB113s and writing letters of support for IB (or DLA) so he should know what to write but you can always make an appointment with him to discuss this.
