A friend of mine has asked me about NI credits on ESA. I can't look it up at work because I'm off sick from my voluntary work and have been for some time.

Her husband works, putting her income above the levels that would enable her to get ESA. If she qualifies in every other way, would she get the NI credits? I've come across "underlying entitlements" in the context of carer's allowance/carer's premium. Is this a bit like that? I did look in the CPAG handbook and have a rummage around the Internet but to no avail.
