DLA age limits was created by eigenmode
Am I right in assuming that DLA, once awarded, on an indefinite basis, is awarded for the whole life of the claimant?

I ask on behalf of a person who has been claiming since the age of 55 and who is worried that the award may end when she is 75. I don't know where she plucked this figure from, but it is concerning her.

Any guidance on this one?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

As it currently stands, provided the person in question still has mobility and/or care needs, they would remain on Disability Living Allowance indefinitely (not transfer to Attendance Allowance etc).

Thanks Pete,

I thought this would be the case, so I can tell her that she should stop worrying.

Cheers,

Mick
