Length of Award

Length of Award was created by Pawprint
Good Morning Everyone.

Quick few questions please if i may.

If an award letter has been received and it has no date of expiry or length of award - does that mean it is indefinate ?

(I understand that it is still subject to review at any time during the award - but not for the first 12 months - is that right ?)

I just wanted to check that if there is a length of award it would be on the letter?

Thank you.

Hi Pawprint,

If there's no end date then it is indeed an indefinite award. I think you're correct that the right payment programme does not apply for the first 12 months of an award, so it would only be reviewed if there was evidence of a change of circumstances.

Good luck,

Steve

:) Morning all. Well I too last week received an award without a end date. For the first time I used the info pack on claiming DLA,myself. I don't know how I managed it as I suffer from RA in my neck, fingers and joints. My social worker was not available to help me but thanks to the info on here, I did everything suggested and provide tons of evidence and I was award HRM/HRC. I am over the moon. So thanks a million for this site and the valuable info provided. Without it, I know I would have struggled to answer those questions.

Does this also apply to ESA awards as I have been put in the work focused group but the letter does not have an end date.
My meds make me sleep most of the day and very little exercise tires me so the fun should start when I have to go to the second pathways to work interrogation, as the first one in the JC+ in Leeds I fell asleep within a minute of having to walk a few hundred yard from the nearest car park :(

Hi dean, ESA and Incap benefits usually give you a review date, mine is incap and the date is 2011. However they can call you in for assessments at any time so although review dates are given to you it could go either way in the present climate some benefit offices are way behind with appeals etc. Best Wishes
