ESA Medical question was created by Elinor
Hi all, I received a ESA50 form about 6 weeks? ago, that had to be back by 8th July, then about 3 weeks ago I got a letter asking me to phone to make an appointment for a medical. I explained that I had got the form to fill in but they said if I don't make an appointment they would just send me one anyway.
I thought the idea was to send the ESA50 back THEN they decide if you need a medical? I have sent the form back and should of had my medical today but I really haven't been well so they have said they will send me a new appointment in the post. Will they read the form before the medical? I hate to think I have made myself ill getting the form filled in for then to not even look at it.
Is there anything I can do to get more time for them to look at the form?
Gosh, I HATE being ill, so wish I could go back to work! I feel so worthless.

No, "worthless" (though high-priced) is what describes the warped 'persons' who work at devising such stuff to inflict upon the ill.I feel so worthless.

Hi Elinor, If you have any supporting medical evidence take it to the medical examination and make sure they read it. The way things are at the moment they seem to be doing everything back to front. You could also try and get advice from a welfare rights officer at your local council offices, or contact your MP with a view of making a formal complaint against ATOS and the DWP. hope that is some help to you. Best Wishes

Don't be feeling worthless. It's not your fault you are ill, and if you are entitled to benefits there is no shame in claiming them.
I hope you kept a copy of what you wrote on your form. Bring that with you, it might be useful to quote from.
