question about DLA was created by bittersweet
I was awarded DLA indefinitely when my last claim expired about 6 months ago. I would like to know if these DLA changes/medicals will affect people who have already been awarded it indefinitely. ie. will we be forced to have a medical despite being awarded it long term. Would appreciate it if anyone could advise me on this. Thanks.

According to the government, everyone of 'working age' who receives DLA will be re-tested during the period 2013 to 2015.
It seems to be regardless of the 'length' of current award (ie timed award or indefinite) or the level of DLA awarded.

Hi bittersweet, At present all DLA awards for people of working age are going to be looked at again by 2013/14. However even lifetime awards could be looked at again under the the right payment programme i think its called unless your award is less than 12 months old. I was given an indefinate award on 1995. But i had to have a further medical in 2001. Best Wishes

Hi bittersweet, i forgot to mention that they will be looking at the awards of working age people first, as i understand it but with the problems they have had with the Incap/ESA migration and subsequent appeals etc. I would not worry too much at the moment. Anything could happen just keep looking out on this site for further updates as and when they happen. Best Wishes
