How long will I remain in the Support group. was created by novoduncan
I recently had an esa medical and was immediately placed in the support group. However, I have not been told how long I am to remain in the support group. E.g. 6 months? 12 months? Can anyone advise? Many thanks everyone phoenixbrighton

Hi
When I was on Incapacity Benefit, I was actually told in a letter that I would be reassessed in one years time.
If you haven't been given this information, your medical report should have a 'prognosis' which is the doctor's opinion (usually an optimistic one) of when your health condition can be expected to improve, if at all. This may give you some idea of when you could be reassessed as the DWP take the prognosis into consideration.

Hi
I too have been placed in the support group and there is no indication when i am likely to be reassessed. I was already attending my interviews with pathways and my advisor looked at my letter and assured me that i wouldnt be bothered again!!! How accurat that is i am not sure, but, she did seem to think that it was indefinate as there was no review advice. Hope this may be of some help to you!!
Kind regards
Julie

Novoduncan.
I was under the impression that once you were placed in support group you were not required to attend any further WFI or similar again?
I have recently just had my WFI5 and am now only required to present myself every 6 months which suits me fine as i consider it to be an ordeal.
Sorry i can't give you a definite answer but i am sure some others will be better informed.
All the best, Ranald.
