DLA Success was created by emmandelo
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thanks to all the advice and help on this site I have been successful in my DLA claim, both Mobility and Care. It took me about a month to complete the form and I was fortunate in having a very supportive GP.I'm in the ESA support group and we get housing benefit. Does the DLA award have any affect on either of these?

Emmandelo,
Congrats on your award !!!!
Don,t worry DLA is a non means tested in-work benefit, and will not alter your entitlement to any other benefits.
However I would still inform the relvant benefit people of this award. Send them a copy of the award letter, keep the original safe.

Thanks bro58. I am writing to both the Housing benefit and ESA with a copy of the award letter. I wasn't sure if the DLA was counted as income against the ESA and HB

Emmandelo,
with reference to my last post, you don't state whether you got middle/higher rate for Mob/Care, if you have with care this could mean that you are entitled to extra money, also your mob award would mean you could get a blue badge, it's worth checking out with CAB etc.
