Is this section for people with Hearing difficulties OR reading print problems, or does it mean you have to have BOTH hearing and reading problems for this section to count.
Any advise with be grateful.
Many thanks

The activity refers to difficulty communicating due to sensory impairment rather than literacy problems.
Page 47 of the ESA physical guide explains it in detail.

The ESA legislation is specific in requiring that the problem be due to sensory impairment, sight is included, but not your inability to understand the message for other reasons.I agree it revolves round sensory impairment - but surely sight is one of the five senses.

If you read the guide Derek referred you to, this is explained in more detail.

This is explained in more detail in the ESA Claims on Physical Grounds guide which is in the Members Only area.Understanding communication by both verbal means (such as hearing or lip reading) and non-verbal means (such as reading 16 point print) using any aid it is reasonable to expect them to use; unaided by another person.
