Contribution based ESA application was created by smartie

Hi,

I am applying for ESA Contribution based. I know that I am allowed savings and income, but when I apply will I be asked for bank statements?

When I applied i had to provide statements fro my pension provider and bacause I disclosed savings I supplied a bank statement, these were all photocopied and the originals returned to me.

I have a pension, also, so realised I'd have to supply something from the provider. Just wondered about providing bank account statements as well.

I suppose it does, Lester. Do they actually expect you to send in a bank statement, though? I mean, if you just sent in the form without a statement, do you think they's ask for one on Contribution based ESA. I don't have anything to hide, it's just new to me.

The ESA1 application form, explains what additional information is required for each of the sections.

So for example part 14 which asks

Do you and your partner’s savings add up to £9,500 or more?

and if this is the case

Please send us proof of your savings with this form. For example, a recent bank statement or a savings book updated within the last month
