CAB - no one available to take your call

I'm panciking a bit. Will there be someone available from the CAB on the phoneline on a different day if I call? I would like to make an appointment for help with ESA50 and would struggle a lot to go to a drop in session and have to wait in the waiting room for ages etc. I was hoping to make an appointment over the phone.

I've just called the CAB number a couple of times this afternoon and there's a recorded message that there's no one from a cab to take your call. There's no ansaphone.

Hi DN,
Are there any other advice agencies in your area, you can chack here. :

I am afraid that levels of service will vary, from one CAB office to another, due to available funding and resources.
You may have to keep on ringing until you gain a reply.
See CAB website here also. :

Most CABs are overworked because of the number of people having dificulties in fighting their way through the benefit system. My local one declared that they were receiving 25% more enquiries than they could manage and that was a year ago.I've just called the CAB number a couple of times this afternoon and there's a recorded message that there's no one from a cab to take your call. As a result, many have stopped taking calls for new appointments, this means you have to attend a triage meeting at the drop in centre, before they will look at booking a more formal meeting with an advisor to deal with your problem.
