I have both but have just noticed that the indefinate period was revised to a date in 2012,The only contact I had with DLA was to tell them of a change of address. Should I be worried by this event or appeal it. Any help appreciated.
Hi JS,
The DLA Indefinate award that you speak of, can only be changed after a review of said award.
If you have not undergone a review, it may be wise to contact the DLA Office, and enquire as to why your indefinate award has been altered.
Informing them of a change of address, should not be classed as a review.
On review, you should receive DLA forms to fill in, and receive notification that your award is being reviewed.

To reiterate what Bro has advised, your current indefinite sward can only be revised if there is change in your mobility and care needs and your award is revised by a Decision Maker. However, as you've had no communication that your award has been changed, you need to contact the DLA Unit in Blackpool urgently and ask what's going on.
Indefinite awards can be looked at again under Right Payment Programme ,
but again your award would have to be revised by a Decision Maker from RPP, and again as you've had not any correspondence from the DWP, there appears to have been a 'cock up' somewhere.
Phone DLA Customer Services on 08457 123456 and ask for a full explanation verbally, with a written confirmation as to why your indefinite award has been removed
without contacting you, as this is totally illegal.
Post again after you've contacted them and let us know how things went.
Good luck.
Pat

Thank you for your reply most helpful, would it have to do with me being 65 in October next year?
See info here re : State Retirement Age. :

If you are in receipt of DLA before reaching state retirement age, then your entitlement should continue after reaching SRA, as long as your limitations/disabilities/needs, have not changed.
However, DLA may be changed to PIP, Personal Independence Payment, in 2013, if the the Welfare Reform Bill is passed as law.
See this thread re : this. :

It may still be advisable to contact the DLA Unit, as Pat suggested.
