Expecting home medical soon.

My DLA is due for renewal after getting higher rate mobility and care for the last 2 years. (thanks to this amazing site when I filled the forms in).
My DLA runs out on Novemeber 23rd and I have just had a message left on my ansaphone asking me to contact them to make an appointment for him to visit.
I am really worried about this as I expect most people are.
I am new to this forum and trying to find my way around and just looking if anyone has experience of home visits.
I am suprised that I did not get a letter from ATOS giving me an appointment especially as I put on my form that I have trouble with telephone calls and prefer to be contacted by post so I can deal with the letter on one of my better days.
I forget conversations and am worried to death about his visit.

Hi KB,

Please be aware also, that if you so desire, you can have a friend, relative or carer present at the medical to offer moral support, and even take notes, as a record of the proceedings.

Further, it may be advisable to do this, if you have such a person who can be there to support you.
