Hi matchseller
Please read B&W guide -
Asset rule for ESA(IR)
You should seek further advice as you are using a credit card to buy a car and the money is only temporarily in your bank account.

Hi MS,
With regards to Contributory ESA, there is no means test, as was the same with Contributory IB.
With regards to Income Related ESA, there is a means test, however even if this were the case for you, as long as your capital and assets does not go above £6,000, there would not be a problem.

Am on ESA ... ANY ADVICE ??????? Jose .
Hi J,
The means test only applies if you are in receipt of Income Related, (income based) ESA, not Contibutory ESA.

If you have any doubts, it would be best if you gained face to face advice, where the advisor would have access to all your personal details.
cheers
