The ATOS "doctor" is supposed to read the ESA50 and any attached evidence before the assessment. If you can show that this did not happen, it could be valuable if the Decision goes against you.

The DWP will only contact your doctor or consultant if the Decision Maker believes that they need additional information. This happens now, more often than previously, but still cannot be guaranteed.

The time from the medical to the Decision can be quite varied, but is probably averaging about five weeks.
