ESA Tribunal

I have been paid nothing by the DSS I went to the local

Welfare Advice and wrote to my MP they were both told that I was not entitled to any benefit even though I fit the critera for ESA.

Last winter I had my Gas turned off 3 times because I could not pay the bill.

The problem seems to be that I was self employed but I should have qualified under the means tested part as I have no money.

My business went into liquidation as I could not cope and I lost all my money and my job at the same time. i was told that I had to give them chartered accounts but when I explained that I could not afford to pay for that they said estimated accounts would do. When I gave them estimated accounts they told me that they did not accept them.

Every time I comply with what they have asked for they provide me with another hurdle.

I thought the Tribunal would be the end of it.

Hi Molly

It may be as well for you to get help from an Advice Centre who can can give you face to face advice.

As there may be a discrepency with the advice given to you by the DWP, you or the Advice Agency, should you use one, could contact the Customer Service Manager at the DWP, who gave you the advice.

I just phoned the adviser and she told me that my appeal has now been allowed and that they have a certificate from August this year to date. I told her that they had certificates from January last year and she is going to investigate and phone me back.

Sorry, just to clarify,I should have added that I sold my car to pay the accountant and it was after I gave them the accounts,which showed them the same figures as my estimated accounts, that they then said I had not provided them with medical evidence

Unbelievable. I really hope you get this sorted out as they have left you in a terrible situation. Good luck!
