oap state pension benefit entitlement was created by gavinkus
Two questions. At present I share a house (but not as a couple). If we become a couple would she lose her pension entitlement until I reach pension age. We share all living expenses 50/50 and therefore are not entitled to any benefit based on private pensions, ie rent, council tax are paid in full.
Recently I have been placed in the support group and although she is my carer she does not get the allowance because of overlapping benefit. I will be 60 in one months time and if I am correct would I be able to claim any enhanced premiums before this date.
Regards Gav

Unfortunately, we don't advise on pensions here, but it may be that someone here knows the answer to this and could point you in the right direction.
I would strongly urge you to get a face-to-face appointment with a welfare rights adviser who can do a better-off calculation for you because there may be more than one financial option here.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

I'm sorry to bounce you onto someone else, but you need to get face to face advice regarding this. We would need more information than it would be reasonable for you to post, and even then we do not have experience in these benefits.
You need to arrange a meeting with your local CAB or Welfare Rights office, as they will be able to take all of your benefits into account and create a projection allowing you to make an informed decision.
Sorry
