ESA Medical to WRAG was created by 9Eeyore9
I am new to posting, not to this site as I usually read posts and get my questions answered this way.

I will try to explain my problem as best I can. I have a few health issues, mainly spine problems, chronic pain syndrome and fibro. I was awarded 18 points at my ESA medical and have been placed in the WRAG group.

I had my first work focused interview and due to all my pain and exhaustion (the lady could clearly see my discomfort and distress)she said I didn't need to go back to see her as she could clearly see I couldn't possibly do a job of any sort. I meant to ad I am on a bit of a cocktail of drugs which are mainly morphine based.

Due to being in constant pain (relieved slightly by meds) I am getting lower and lower {phrase removed}. I am in my 30's and don't know who I can live another 40/50 years like this.

I am sorry for the long story. I asked my case worker if I she thought It would be worth appealing to see if I could go into the Support Group and she said no, as it is only 2% of ESA applications that go into this group.

I wondered if anyone on this site has had a similar experience of I have had with regards WRAG and the jobcentre saying they won't be pursuing me to get a job?

I am sorry if this sounds a bit muddled up - this is how I feel.

Thank you.

You might want to take a look at our guide to ESA, and in particular at the exceptional circumstances provisions.

Do you have a doctor you can discuss this with who might be prepared to write a supporting letter/report relating to the exceptional circumstances provisions?

Thank you Survivor. When I speak with my GP she seems very caring and understanding, however on my DLA app she wrote that I am "Fully Selfcaring " and "Fully Mobile". I had never discussed any of these topics with her and was very upset at this. She is now aware of my care and mobility problems. My caseworker asked me to ask my gp for an Occupational Health Assessment - at which time she said she wished she had thought of it.

I have an apt to speak with my gp next week - really about my mental health I could ask her to help.

I am in the midst of a DLA appeal (as you can imagine from what my gp wrote). I have been to a tribunial already (only for it to be adjourned)and am having to go back to the tribunial again soon for the decision (they sent a gp to my house inbetween this).

Like alot of people who use this site, I am so exhaused from the benefits process and If I thought I had a glimmer of a chance of qualifying for the "exceptional circumstances" rule then I would go for an appeal. To go to my tribunial or any medicals I have to travel 80 miles round trip.

Thank you again.

Did being in work before result in harm to you or someone else? It may be that you would have witnesses as to the effect that work has on you.

I am not sure I understand your question. Both my back and pain /fibro conditions have been with me for over 15 years and the conditions have gradually worsened. I have muddled on through taking meds but I am at my limit due to my age and what they do to me.

I changed my career to try to cope with my pain and exhaustion but even this I am unable to do. There were people at my last workplace and they all told me I had to stop because they could see how my problems affected me during work, I used to pour with sweat becuase of the pain.
