transfer ib to esa confusion was created by cbrad
i currently get cont based ib and is top up, am i right in saying that on transfer i will i get cont based esa with income related esa top up.
also am i right in saying that after 12 months my cont based esa will stop but then will my income based esa go up by the same amount as the cont based esa that has ceased
the above assumes i am in wrag group but if i am in the support group then cont based esa continues. i hope i have read the guides right and i am so glad i no longer work for the ba, everything is so confusing.
thanks to all moderators for all there good work.

If you are on ESA with an IS top up, you will move to ESA(CB) with an ESA(IR) top up as necessary. The rules as regards the length of time you can get ESA in which group aren't quite as simple as getting ESA(CB) for a year if you're in the support group, because it will depend on how long you've had it for when not in the support group. If you bear with me, I'll post a link to more information when I've finished this reply.
If and when you cease to be eligible for ESA(CB), you will be able to claim ESA(IR) if you satisfy the income, capital and work-hours tests.
