Going Abroad ESA/ IB was created by Ty
Hello Everyone
I'm a new member and fistly I would like to express my appreciation for all the helpful advice from this site and forum. Thank you so much and God bless you.
I am on long term incapacity benefit and because of costs and healthier weather I'm thinking of moving to Spain next year. I think my benefit is exportable (pre 2001 claim)but I'm worried if when I tell the DWP about moving that this will set off a review and I may be put on ESA (or even worse)which may not be exportable. Any related advice is greatly appreciated
Regards
Ty

If you intend to move to Spain, your case will be transferred to the DWP Overseas Benefits Directorate.
You will of course have to report the fact that you will be moving to Spain to the JCP office which handles your IB claim at the appropriate time, at which point they will be able to advise you of the procedure for exporting your benefit abroad, if applicable?

We're not able to advise on the exporting of benefits as the rules are quite complicated.
However, things you need to be aware of;
Who will be transferred?
What will I be transferred to?
12 Month Limit for ESA(CB)
www.dwp.gov.uk/international/benefits/em...d-support/#countries
Hope this helps
