esa problem

hi my daughter is on esa at present, she moved out a few months ago too live with her boyfriend who works so many hours i know its not full time she rang the esa dept monday to change her address because she has been sent the questionaire today was her esa pay day and she hasnt been paid , shes very upset shes rang them and they wont pay her no money until she has filled the form in which came with the questionaire about her boyfriends income and were they live ect the dwp have told my daughter depending on the hours he works she may not get any esa , is this the normal regarding esa i didnt think it made any difference she isnt fit for work at present plz help xxx

If your daughter is claiming Income Related ESA (as opposed to Contributory based ESA) and lives with her partner, then her partner's income would be included in the calculation of her Income Related ESA. It may also affect any housing benefit, council tax benefit or any other means tested benefits also in payment.

Thus to prevent an overpayment occurring the DWP need to re-assess her entitlement to Income Related ESA. She really needs to get the forms returned as soon as possible.

hi thanks no its not income related esa she was on job seekers allowance and took ill she has been on esa since shes really upset on the phone , xxxxxxxx
